The Inclusion Club is committed to the inclusion of people with disability in all aspects of sport and active recreation. We publish custom articles, called episodes, podcasts and other resources to help educate and inform people about the different aspects of inclusion. Why? Simply because we have witnessed time and time again the immeasurable benefits of participation in regular sport and recreation. It’s life changing!

It all started about 2010 when co-founding Directors Peter Downs and Ken Black had a conversation about sharing good practice in this field. To cut a long story short we are now a non-profit health promotion charity established in Australia and the UK. We have five Directors who volunteer their time and expertise to maintain this website. We hope you benefit from our work and join us and our 2,000 or so subscribers.

All Inclusion Club articles and materials can be reproduced or distributed for free. All that we ask is that you attribute the work to the author and The Inclusion Club, linking back to our website. All our material is published under a Creative Commons licence. This means that you can copy and distribute the work as you chose. It’s a fundamental principle on which we operate.

I’ve been in this field for quite a while – 25 years or so. It’s a great pleasure to work on The Inclusion Club – it’s my ‘giving back’ to a field of work I’ve derived so much from personally over a long period of time. And you never know – one day we may get the support to do this full-time – that would be a blast!

I’ve been a teacher for 35 years. I taught physical education for my first 15 years largely with students with intellectual disabilities. I love seeing the enjoyment that students get from being active and get a buzz from creating environments that enable all students to successfully participate.

I’ve been working in sport in Australia for the better part of the past 10 years and for most of that delivering disability inclusion and Paralympic pathways activities within mainstreams sport. I am a strong believer in sharing of knowledge and experiences for the betterment of the sports community at large and The Inclusion Club provides a unique and innovative platform for doing just that. Its a great pleasure to be involved with The Inclusion Club and its global network of sports people all working towards the same goal.

It’s a privilege to volunteer for The Inclusion Club and combine my passion for sport and technology. The Inclusion Club provides a rare space where the amazing influence sport has on our lives can be seen, shared and celebrated. We’re always on the look out for people who can help build our networks and communities.
